Why calibrate my display?

You would think that new TV’s and Projectors would be perfect “out of the box”.
The fact is they are not!
But why?

  1. They are often setup to look very bright and colourful but this does not mean they are correct, accurate or set at the right luminance for the room you have it in.
  2. They almost always do not come out of the box with the right settings. You will go a long way to getting it looking better if you can switch it to a mode that says something like “Cinema” or “THX” or “Filmmaker” depending on your display’s features.
  3. Component variation. TV’s and projectors are made up of thousands of components and each one can vary in tolerance to a small degree which can add up to significant variation out of the factory. (This is why internet settings often don’t work and even more so when you consider step 4)
  4. Everyone watches in different rooms at different ambient light levels and this makes a BIG difference. Setting the wrong black level for the ambient light can destroy image detail.
  5. Often sources (DVD players, AppleTV etc) are set up incorrectly.
  6. People fiddle! Without having the right tools and information things can go a little bit astray.

So, what does this all mean?

  1. Picture too bright or too dark either way it can be a strain to watch
  2. Loss of detail in dark scenes
  3. Loss of detail in bright scenes
  4. Incorrect colours such as grass being super bright green or the sea or sky not looking as it should.
  5. Image quality loss from things like too much processing and excess sharpening or keystoning set on projectors.

This means you are NOT getting the image your TV is capable of and that you paid for, you are literally missing out on the value you thought you were buying.

Calibration fixes all of this.

We check the signal to the TV in your equipment and through your cables and inputs.
We check the settings in your source devices and display.
We adjust to your viewing conditions and even offer a day and night viewing setting.
We adjust the entire grey scale (from black to white and everything in between)
We then adjust your entire colour space in every mode, such as SDR, HDR and Dolby Vision.
We can even perform what is called a 3D LUT that measures thousands of colour points and correct this in a matrix and upload it to your TV (on panels that allows this).

We fix your image so that it is as perfect as it can be!

WE OFFER A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUARANTEE.
IF YOU DONT THINK WE HAVE IMPROVED THE IMAGE SIGNIFICANTLY WE RESET YOUR DISPLAY TO THE WAY IT WAS AND WE DO NOT CHARGE YOU A CENT!
